What is Your Value Proposition?

There are so many options out there today; it's often difficult to figure out what exactly is the right job for you. Creating a value proposition will help you define what you want to do, who you want to do it for and highlight your top skills.

It's essential to craft a clear message on what you have to offer so you can convey that message to your audience.

When asked the question, What do you want to do?, you should have a decisive and confident response. If your answers involve; I don't know, I’m not sure, or even something completely off the wall, prospective employers are not going to take you seriously. It is your time to shine and talk about all your great accomplishments. You have talents, you have gifts so verbalize it!

Think about past experiences and what truly made you happy. Was it business development and the client interaction? Or examining infrastructure and implementing new technology?

When developing your message answer the questions:

• Who is your target audience?

• What do you want them to know about you?

• How do you want them to feel?

These are the most critical questions to answer when creating your value proposition. Communicating this information clearly to an employer will surely get you noticed!
